About Herb Scher Photo Gallery

Herb Scher has a passion for photography that he pursues through a variety of personal projects. Among these are a series of photographs he took from around 2004 to 2010 documenting his fellow songwriters and performers at Sidewalk Cafe, an influential performance venue that closed in 2019. He has also documented the evolution of urban locations over long periods of time, including sites in New York City and the Miami Beach neighborhood where his grandfather owned a popular delicatessen. Photos of his have appeared in The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal and were featured in exhibitions at The New York Public Library and Miami Design Preservation League. Today he is an educator, helping people reach their creative goals through the use of technology.
